The Christian Home Educators Network provides much needed resources to Maryland families who desire a better education for their children than the state can offer in its crowded classrooms. Unfortunately, their website wasn't communicating this. So a friend referred them to me for help.
The first objective was to create a design that in itself would speak to their integrity and their hope for their children. The second and perhaps more important objective was simply to improve its organization. A thorough review of their website revealed that the more valuable information was buried, even hidden. Nobody likes that.
My redesign provided CHEN with a bright, hopeful atmosphere to greet prospective homeschoolers and members alike. The layout is simple for content that is not overwhelming and its valuable information is easily accessible to all. What's more, the new site is now optimized for search engines. It's all about Google... and, I guess, Yahoo.
Simple communication is the most important ingredient in any successful website. It's not rocket science but it does requires careful consideration.
